Holiday Lighting 2012 LED Roundup

Holiday lighting displays seem to outdo themselves every year. Just when you think you’ve seen it all, each December someone passes on a YouTube link to a bigger, better, more over-the-top light show. LEDs and increasingly elaborate control systems have made it easier and easier to get in on the fun. And if you’re like most of us, you probably think at some point while looking at these displays, “What must their electric bill be?” Well, there are reports of bills approaching six figures but it’s those aren’t LED lights, which can save substantially on energy costs.

Without further ado, here are just a few examples of some of the most impressive displays around the country.

Rochester, NY: We’ll start here in our own backyard. The Rochester area is full of great displays, including the famous Colony Lane Circle of Lights. As you can see from the link, residents around here go as all-out as anyone, and there are enough options to keep you busy through the entire holiday season.

Corpus Christi, TX: Another area with a seemingly endless list of houses and locations to visit to get in the holiday spirit. Lots of the houses showcased in the above link look like their owners put more do-it-yourself work into bringing their winter wonderlands to life.

Dyker Heights, NY: This area of Brooklyn is traditionally a destination for holiday visitors to New York City and residents alike. Scroll down in this link for a can’t-miss slideshow of just why that is.

Chesapeake, VA: We couldn’t help ourselves, we just loved this video. We hope you’re not sick of the song yet, and even if you are, you’ve never seen it quite like that. Perhaps the best part? The mastermind behind it says that since he switched to LEDs, his electric bill only goes up $75 for the month.
Enjoy, and Happy Holidays from us here at Bulb Direct!
